Detailed Description of Character's Personality: Rachel Roth is a little bit of a loner, because of her demon side recently resurfacing. Under times of great stress, her powers will escape her control, breaking things around her until she manages to calm down again, this being her demonic side trying to resurface in her loss of control. Rachel is also an avid reader, which is what lead her to her new occupation. Having been alone for a few years, she began watching comedians, since it reminded her in a way of her old friends.
Weaknesses: Raven's main weakness is that she has to control her emotions, or else she'll end up losing control to her demonic side. In addition, she isn't invunerable, or anything of that sort, so guns and the like would (most likely) work, unless she managed to put up a barrier in time.
Powers/ Abilities: Empathy, Empathic Healing, Emotion Negation, Soul-Self, Astral Projection, Teleportation (exhausts her), Limited Precognition and Dream Message. New powers: Telekinesis, Shadow Manipulation, Levitation, Phasing, a degree of time manipulation if her demonic side is being fuelled or is in or almost in control.
Main Enemy: Trigon (sealed), Brother Blood lineage (ended), Sons of Trigon (active)
Character's History:
Raven of Azarath, born of the demonic incarnation of Azarath's evil, Trigon, and the earthling human Arella. As she grew older, she had many adventures with the various incarnations of the Titans and Teen Titans, including defeating her father at least twice, and fighting the Church of Blood. When Legacy and Destiny were finally formed, she had died and revived at least a few different times, which got her stuck with her "Permanently Alive" legal status after the government got fed up with changing it so much. As Legacy and Destiny clashed, Raven had multiple conflicts with her siblings, the Sons of Trigon, as well as getting into arguments with the other team members about the approach they should be taking to stop Destiny.
Eventually, this lead to Raven quitting, and she tried living a normal life while the other superpowered people struggled endlessly. However, the Sons didn't accept her disappearance from the battle, and decided that if she wasn't with the heroes, then she would be forced to join the villains. They attacked in the middle of a college class, and forced her into a battle against them all by holding the college students hostage. As the battle went on, Raven noticed a familiar sensation welling up within her, and before she could stop herself, she lost control in a burst of power, shadowy tendrils wrapping around her body. This is when the Sons of Trigon made a mistake, one that nearly cost them their lives... They let down their guard. The tendrils, having been stopped mid-way in transforming Raven into a demon, shot out at the Sons, crushing them as the semi-possessed half-demon floated over the ground, her eyes glowing red. The group managed to disable her, and fled for their lives.
Raven collapsed as the source of demonic energy left, and when she came to, she was on the sidewalk outside the campus, the students and teachers shouting at her to leave them alone, among other things. Taking her chance to leave before things got violent, and feeling their alloted hatred for her, Raven levitated, "flying" off to find some place where she would be safe, and an occupation that she could find fulfilling without attracting the kind of attention that her superheroing had brought. She found her way to Los Angeles, and, inspired by a book she had read, became a detective, living a ways away from the city itself so that villains searching for her wouldn't be able to involve innocents so easily.
Living Arrangements/Current Home: A small, one-bedroom house in the outskirts of Los Angeles.
Role Playing Sample:
Raven was sitting in her den as time slowly ticked by, reading a novel as she moved things around her house with her mind. Things were a little weird, adjusting to her new body and powers, but after a while she had grown used to them, accepting them as part of herself. As she read her book, she heard a car stop in front of her house, and slid open the window to check, noting a woman and her child approaching. "More small-time work... But at least it pays the bills..." She opened the door, welcoming the two into her humble abode, and offered to make tea while they told her their problem. As she had anticipated, it was small-time; tracking the father of the family to find out where he goes every week. Nodding, Raven gave them some tea and showed them out before heading out to do her latest job.
